You people either skipped over the 93/7 part, or you just like eating dry as fuck burgers.

i eat 93/7 burgers and they aren't that dry. i put worstershire (sp) sauce, seasoning, grill or cook in pan on stove. if you george forman it it does make it kinda dry though

i kinda like ground beef. it is versatile. and cheap. so i like live off of it at school (well mostly i live off of grilled chicken but when i'm bored of poultry, i switch to the GB)

[Edited on January 19, 2009 at 2:45 PM. Reason : sometimes GT. ground turkey]

yep...grill all the way. worcestershire sauce is a key burger ingredient! minced garlic is good to add, too. maybe mix in some venison.

toast the bun

favorite toppings (in various combinations) are extra sharp chedder, pimento cheese, sauteed onions, fried onion rings, guacamole, bleu cheese, lettuce.

man, I absolutely cannot wait to grill up some of this stuff when I get home. The food here isn't that bad, but it's cafeteria food, and it's the same 10-15 things on a rotation. I have a feeling that I'm going to blow an absolutely inordinate amount of money on going out for good dinners for about a month after getting back to the States (and let's not even talk about the meal budgets, or lack thereof, for the trip home and the stops in Sicily and the Azores).

do you actually get to "hang out" in the azores? what is there to do there? when i stopped thru it was just for gas and the mandatory rest period for the pilots (from what i remember).

Right--do you think I do my crew-resting holed up in the BOQ or something?

I don't know, I barely even saw any of our maintainers there on the way over. We (aircrew) got there with the jets on a Friday around dinnertime and departed for Souda Bay (Crete) on Sunday morning. Look on my facebook profile...there's bunch of pictures I took there.

As far as stuff to do there, it's sort of primitive in a lot of ways...just a few small towns, but there are bars and restaurants to go to, and it's a beautiful area in terms of scenery...worth driving around the island and checking it out. They also run bulls through the streets during the summer. It's basically a town-wide block party.
