I'm a fan of the Biggest Loser - Couples. Does anyone else watch it? Any opinions?

My girl and I dvr this and watch it on sunday nights while eating some ice cream.

Its enjoyable and its fun to pick a team/player to root for. Go Orange Boo Silver.

yeah silver sucks, although there aren't really any hateable people this season. usually there's at least one i want to see fail (like that bitch vickie, ugh).

I agree, but I think Joelle is going to end up staying a while, and I'm not a big fan.

Do you think the producers make sure specific bad traits of people stand out so that viewers like me can be like 'man I can't stand that team'?

I think teams are always nice the first couple of weeks.

Love this show, watch it religiously every week. We DVR it starting at 8p but we actually start watching it at 9p so we can watch it and fast forward through commercials and tacky interviews. I'm really hoping the Orange team (from Holly Springs) can go far!

I watch it because Kevin's usually at work then. I've just discovered that there's a biggest loser cookbook and I'm real tempted to get it.

^Yeah, but you have to admit that Dave was really pulling their team down, he was a loser in my mind. I was really happy to see how much weight Dan lost.

and i wonder if they have to tell the contestants to act interested whenever they do a product plug. i mean how excited can you get about ziploc bags and sugarfree gum? i can definitely attest that fucking gum doesn't curb your cravings if you really want a snickers

Orange team worked hard (at least Dan did). I was happy he lost all that weight. It was frustrating to see Dave still eating crap. He kept saying he was only there a week, but everyone else who came back seemed to be eating right and working out.

I love the blue team.

i just started really watching it this season because a couple of my friends do, and we started having "cook something healthy and watch biggest loser" nights (creative title, i know). we are thinking of getting the biggest loser cookbook so we can make some of the meals for these nights

i really liked the orange team, but dave was totally pulling them down which sucked. i'm so happy that dan is doing well!

i also really like the blue team, the brown team, and the purple team.

i like how competitive that green girl is, but i imagine she will start to get on my nerves soon

I know both Daniel and Dave personally and they are both still working on their weight loss for the final show and for the lives. Dave does still struggle with the eating.

I have to agree, the product plugs are kinda silly. It's so obviously staged, it's just kinda hilarious to watch them.

"So, what are you eating for breakfast? Oatmeal? Let's eat this fiber-filled cereal that tastes only slightly like cardboard. It's only 100 calories! Then you get to go workout for 5 hours until lunchtime, having only ingested 100 calories this morning!"

yea my brother has got me into watching this show. i hate that dan and dave got voted off, especially with them being from the holly springs area. i do agree with stingray, when dave had his pants held up i was expecting something drastic...this is kind of a neat show to watch, especially when they start "playing the game." (i.e. them not voting joelle off last week!)

I think it'll be dane (black team).

I think Dan will get the home prize. It's hard to eat healthy esp. in this deep-fried area, but he can totally beat out everyone

that pissed me off when it showed dave smoking and eating fried foods. he ate two hot dogs and french fries when he first came home after the first show lol..

you are right tara is really competitive....and she's strong too which will help her win immunity in the competitions..........but the thing is, when she started, she wasnt *that* big and she's lost a lot of weight so far, i imagine down the line she'll start to plateau and the weight loss will start to go very slow

i think the black team are definite contenders. i also think the blue team will start to pick up some speed

i think it's funny that, during the update, it said they hadn't spoken since they left the show. then they got 'em together, shenanigans ensued, and joelle stalked off. i also noticed that carla had lost a lot more weight than joelle had. in fact i don't think joelle had lost more than 20lbs since she left the ranch. i predict epic failure from her. it'll be nice to see how they interact in the finale.

now that i can't pull for the orange guys, i think i'm gonna pull for the former models - green team go!

Tara was my favorite from the beginning. I also like the pink team because they are so super supportive. I hated the silver team.

They'll vote off individuals from one group probably the next 3 weeks or so. Then they will split into groups of individuals. Then they will bring back two people. At least thats what they have done the last two seasons.

i like the brown team too, but i think it's only a matter of time before ron goes home. it's sad that his knee injury slows him down so much, but awesome that everyone helps him out. hopefully bob can keep coming up with alternative exercises for him to keep the stress off that knee.

so what's your prediction for who wins it? dane has a ton of weight to lose so i definitely think he has an advantage over some of the harder working people. i'd really like to see daniel come back and be the at-home winner.

Guess what! My husband eleusis just got back from Gold's Gym in Cary (on Kildaire Farm Rd) and Daniel, the successful member of the Orange Team from Holly Springs, is working there now! He said Daniel was a really nice guy and was looking like he'd lost well over 100lbs. I can't wait to meet him! Hopefully I can get a picture with him.

^ that's awesome! I was really excited to see that the orange team was from NC. Also glad to find this thread, I don't have anybody to talk about the show with!

So far I like the green team, Tara is such a stud but she's always nice to everyone. Her teammate is holding her back though! The blue team are gonna be totally hot when they lose weight. And purple/pink are so cute with their Michigan accents. I like Kristen, she's my pick for a dark horse winner. She's really dedicated and she has a lot of weight left to lose. I agree that Tara will probably plateau too much to win.

Some of the challenges seem wacky to me. I understand that it's not fair to have them run a footrace every time, because everyone started with a different amount of weight holding them back. But unwinding the rope was dumb.

So I went up there last night before closing and met Daniel and talked to him about the show. Turns out both Bob and Jillian are gay. I kinda figured about Bob, but didn't think that about Jillian.

Also, Daniel told me this hilarious story. One morning he walked over to the McDonald's next to Gold's Gym in order to get a coffee. He only had $2 in his hand - for coffee. He walked in and the manager said to him, "What are you doing man? You are not going to eat this shit, I won't let you!" He told him he was just there for a coffee, and the manager was like, "Oh, OK man, that's cool. Good luck!!"

So, he says he's lost 110lbs so far and the finale is on May 12th. He hopes to at least be down 180lbs by then.

He also said he works out with Heba and Ed (from last season) at the North Hills Gold's Gym all the time. He said they were pretty cool people. I'd love to meet them too!!

Oh, and the Orange Team was from Willow Springs, not Holly Springs.

dang, Tara kicked ass again today, biking the most miles and winning the up-downs! she even beats the guys. the black team is definitely looking good with Felipe, Sione, and Tara. I predict they're gonna win more challenges.

Wow did Jillian's old team on the blue team mess up. The three of them should have voted for Mike and Bob's side voted for Dane and it goes to percentage weight loss and Mike would have been gone. That team really needs Mike gone so that they can compete with the black team. That black team is ferocious! Mike will only slow down the blue team and his percent weight loss is horrible comparatively.

^Mike is the son (who is now on the Black team). Ron is the dad (on the Blue team), whom I believe you are referring to.

And yes, as much as I hate to say it, right now it's still about the "team" so you must vote off the person who doesn't lose as much weight each week, and unfortunately that's Ron. His injuries will not keep him in this game much longer. They made a mistake voting Dane off, because he broke a BL record with 100lbs lost in 8 weeks - that means he's a big loser and puts up good numbers, so he should stay on the team a few more weeks before you consider him a "threat".
