When people talk about streaks in sports. This streak seems to only get mentioned by ACC followers. Say what you want to about the tarholes but this is the most impressive streak in the history of sports. It will never be equaled or broken. Sometimes you hear about team A that hasn't won at team B in 40 years or whatever, then you find out they've only played a handful of times and then it doesn't sound as impressive. But clempson has played in the city limits of chapel hell every year for 53 years and have never won. That is truly amazing. Even in the 8-20 season unc-ch beat clempson, even last year they were down 11 with 2something minutes and still won.

but as much as i hate the fagsheep, it is a damn impressive streak...like you said, even in the 8-20 season, clemson lost

last year it took 2 overtimes for UNC to win...and hansbrough had twice as many foul shots as clemson's entire team

clemson is good this year though...the streak HAS to end SOMETIME doesnt it?

You have to remember though that sticks didn't start becoming curved until the early 1960s. Shots weren't usually as high back then. Also the goalie could not fall down at the beginning of the sport to play the puck. For a good portion of hockey's history goalies played more stand up and rarely went to the ice even after the change in the rules. Obviously this is probably due to the coaches of the time being used to the old style of play and teaching that to their players. Despite all of this, yes the goalies of old that didn't use any kind of face protection were pretty ballsy.

tis true, almost all goalies in hockey now play butterfly(a mix of styles that go down alot) you rarely find stand up goalies today, and they are usually badass motherfuckers like Tim Thomas.
