Pretty fun game. It's free right now while in beta. Download it now. Do it. If you don't, you should feel bad.

Woah... this is one of the first genuinely creative and original video game ideas that I've seen in a while, if the video is any good indicator of the gameplay. And it looks well-executed and quirky. Certainly worth a download while it's free, I'm sure the sheer novelty value of it will last at least a few solid hours.

So you get points just by jumping around?

you get the points by killing other robots with your sword... looks like the main attack it some sort of flying dash. And I'm sure there's some system of defense or dodging involved, like if two of you dash at each other simultaneously it won't kill either...

Got the game downloaded/installed but won't really get a good chance to play it till tomorrow.

Update after playing a couple games:

This game kicks ass in awesome ways.

There's a few issues, some host/latency stuff, once a robot gets too huge he becomes totally overpowered (while this is an intended mechanic, after a certain point it basically becomes invincible god-mode if everyone else is tiny, due to the way blocking works)... but besides that it's amazing. A bit difficult at first due to the insane speed and often not really being sure how the other guy you were fighting just killed you, but after climbing up the learning curve for a bit it's all manageable. Still fast-paced as fuck, though. Also there's not very many players online at any given time, unfortunately.

Short version: It's fun. Not enough people. There are some minor issues but they don't override the coolness.

If you're on Vista, disable UAC and all that other jazz. Also you'll have to restart when .NET is done.

Also, install using the setup.exe file instead of the installer itself... For some reason it installs a couple other necessary components that the installer doesn't. Including XNA 3.0.

Installed fine, started fine, I'm hosting a game trying to figure out the controls and wondering why no one is joining. When I quit, there's the Windows Firewall thingy asking if I want to continue to block this program.

Heh, I was dogfighting with one guy who had gotten to this stage (his trail was red). I sniped a kill off someone else to get +1 energy, ran up to him, got him to chase me, and exploded next to him taking all of his kills with me.

Just played my first full game: damn that was fun! They who won had 53 points or something, I had 32. What's the correlation between how big your energy bar is to how many points you get when you explode?

I tried installing it yesterday but it got caught on the net framework thing.

XP Media Center SP3. I tried both the installer and the setup.exe

uninstall, install with setup, it will do the framework. the readme clearly says do not install with the installer, but i made the same mistake the first time too (who the damn reads the manual?).

"General XNA compatibility/install issues. Lots of people ran the .msi file not the setup.exe. This meant that XNA 3.0 Redistributable and .NET 3.5 weren’t installed. If the game crashes when you try and start it, this is most probably the reason. Go forth and download."

I played a few games earlier on today, it was fun but there weren't that many people playing. It only found two individual games to join, and each one only had like 4 people playing in it. It was fun running around and jumping and stuff but it seemed that most people got points by finding a clusterfuck of other robots and just mashing the left click to dash/attack through it until they actually hit something.

Yeah, they recently changed targeting. Now you have to hold down mouse1 and track your target. The longer you track him, the stronger your hit when you release mouse1. On games I'd host, I'd set it to be max 1 or 2 boosts, and max 1 attack per jump.
