^^nothing so centralized... gangs tend to be structured in cells, for redundancy. it's like a revolution, almost, except they're just doin' it for personal profit

though from what I gather there is a good deal of centralization of authority in some of the gangs, the communication is decentralized. the adherence may be more a product of mimicry than authority in other cases... I gather east-coast gangs are not necessarily related to the west-coast gangs of the same names
