I got a Chevy S-10 I need to replace the alternator, and therefore need the belt off. Any one know of a way to get the tensioner to release without a bar wrench, as I dont have one. 1/29/2009 9:39:32 PM |

Son, I've done this slightly less than a hundred times (MAYBE), and half the time I used a fucking combination wrench. And half the time I used a 3/8" drive ratchet. Another half of the time, I used a prybar, strategically placed. And still another half of the time, I used the long bar tool with socket inserts that they make specifically for the job. 1/30/2009 11:06:36 AM |

there are about 50 damn ways to do it, all you gotta do is move the arm back less than an inch, most of the time a wrench on the pulley bolt will do it 1/30/2009 4:20:41 PM |
