"One has to assume he had an epiphany," concerning his career, Baloga said. The enlarged, bustle-like trunk design first appeared in 2002 on the 7 Series BMW, the newspaper said. It was widely criticized, then widely copied, although some car companies toned it down to appeal to conventional tastes, the newspaper said.
