talk to Mike Jones, he's the counter sales rep, they deal mostly with reliance motors and drives, but he can answer any question you have and set you up with who you need
the rockwell automation dealer, can't remember the company name, in holly springs is also good, but pricey 2/4/2009 6:33:26 PM |

RELIANCE IS NOW BALDOR. LAWL.
And so is Dodge electric motors.
Different offerings, same company.
Oh yeah, and it would help to know exactly what kind of motor and in what kind of application it's being used. AC? DC? servo? stepper? hybrid? If AC, is it single or three phase? Single phase electric motors have to rely on starter capacitors because of initial phase lag, which basically creates a no-torque situation in which the motor can't even begin to spin itself. Three phase requires no such thing, though many can be wired in what's called either wye or delta winding arrangement...has a lot to do with starting torque and locked-rotor amperage draw.

^^of course I googled, I am looking for someone that someone recommends anything small i can usually take care of in house, so typically only need someone for larger 5+ hp motors
^pool pumps, single and three phase(wye and delta). i know the basics, looking for someone when large motors need to be pulled and replaced, starters replaced, bearings need service, basic machining, etc...
it is usually time sensitive, so I need someone that can respond fast. we give a lot of business to a couple guys now and i want to find some more contacts for when they can't keep up. 2/5/2009 12:45:17 AM |

Electric Equip is where we take motors for work. But then thats for DC stuff. Nothing like having a 30-50 year old motor die and need rewinding, or a new commutator. 2/5/2009 9:30:33 PM |
