What should I use them for/towards?I don't need a new TV. But I am thinking of the following:- A GPS System for the Car- Blue Ray Player- New Wireless for the house (mine is 6 years old, but what kind?)- PS3 (or another gaming system) - BUT, I would hardly ever get the chance to play it b/c of traveling and I think I am kinda "outgrowing" playing video games all day. - something else that I am forgettingANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT!

I don't suggest GPS unless you're apt to get lost or do a ton of driving

PS3 is a blu ray player dude. Two birds with one stone.I just solved your issue.

If you are thinking about buying a blu ray player or a gaming system then you probably should go with the PS3.A PS3 is a gaming system AND a blu ray player all in one.I absolutely love my PS3 because of the gaming/blu-ray player option.[Edited on February 7, 2009 at 4:22 PM. Reason : ^what he said]

HAY! PS3 AND BLU-RAY ARE THE SAME!

get the PS3 and use it as a blu-ray player. if you travel for business and stay in hotels and extended-stay housing a lot, you could just carry it with you to pass the time at night.

has anyone mentioned that a ps3 plays blue rays, so you only need one console?
2/7/2009 4:53:47 PM
but if you aren't gonna use a ps3 for games much you might as well save the money and get a stand alone blu-ray player and have $$ left over

A PS3 is more than just a video game console and a bluray player. You can use it as a multimedia server for streaming music and video over your home network, and Netflix streaming should be a reality soon. You can already download select movie titles on the PS3 already.

^Netflix on the PS3 is a reality now. I'm watching it right now.

i vote for the gps

You know I've heard that the PS3 plays Blu-ray discs so you might wanna do some research on them!
2/7/2009 8:32:26 PM
yeah, netflix is on the ps3, but you have to buy PlayOn, which is $40i don't really like it too much because it basically transcodes the DRM'ed netflix content into mpeg-2. you can't get real HD from it. hopefully they'll work something out with sony though... that's the ONLY thing i like better about the xbox.other than that, i love my PS3. you should get one.

dont get the ps3 if you arent gonna use it a bunch.dont get a bluray now unless you have a godly TV and lots of money to buy blurays (the players are still going down in price)get the GPS, those are awesome.
