So i brought my tower to campus to have solidworks installed. They did and said i had to log on to the solidworks tunnel on putty to run it. So i get it home and log in to putty and try to run it and it says "Could not obtain a license for SolidWorks"

I heard something like you have to be on the ncsu network, but it seems like they would tell you that.

If anyone knows anything that would be helpful let me know.

im not sure if its the case now but a while ago they used to have a limited number of licenses and you couldn't use it if x amount of people were already

I know the license server for solidworks was down yesterday. I dunno if its working today (I dont use it so have no way of verifying it).

VCL, what they were suggesting as an alternative, is remote desktop. Several people disagreed with Cmurda when he said that remote desktop is too slow for 3D CAD, insinuating that his connection sucked. I personally can see where Cmurda would be coming from with that and found the tone of those insinuations offensive, so I responded in kind

Apparently it doesn't work on VCL either. Perhaps the campus's licensing server is down? Maybe they're shit out of licenses, but "The desired vendor daemon is down. (-97, 121, 0)" doesn't make me think so. SysNews only reports:

Looking at some stuff, the license server is still down. Itll probably be fixed tomorrow at the earliest. with out that server, you aint getting it to work anywhere, your computer, VCL, or the campus labs.

Can anyone tell me how to slipstream SW SP5 into an original SW 2008 install iso? Apparently Vista 64bit is not supported on the regular Solidworks 2008, only in SP 3+ i think. Or is there an actual 64bit version of solidworks? 08/09?

I have Solidworks installed on my computer, the NCSU version where you have to log on thru putty first. Every night at 11:00pm, SolidWorks attempts to load and I then it tries to send this email to SolidWorks. Any ideas on how to keep this from happening. The only way to end the process is to restart the computer.
