Hmm. He had his agent call the Jets. I'm not sure what I think about that but oh well. I'd imagine this time is for good. It's going to suck to not see him play anymore. 2/11/2009 9:51:37 AM |

He heard about A-rod and remembered how much he likes being in the limelight, he will be back

^ good god. The bashing of a username is getting old. I usually don't let the internet get to me, but jeeze. Look, I have no creativity and had her friend create it for me. I'm kinda tired of getting flamed for a fucking user name. If you don't like the shit i post, that's fine, flame on. It's not even borderline to me, he's nowhere close to top 10
Usually if people are all over a QB's nuts despite the fact that they have mediocre to average stats it's because they have some sort of X factor or really turn it on in the games that matter but Favre is a master choke artist when the pressure is on and a drama queen to top it off, the Favre love fest has boggled my mind since the day I became aware of it sometime around the age of 132/12/2009 11:17:54 PM |

^ OK you need to get your facts straight. It is next to impossible to rank QB's from different era's, however I believe as many people do that Brett Favre is one of the best of all time. He is definitely in the top 10 if not the top 5. The numbers don't tell the whole story, nor do super bowl victories, or MVP's . I believe you have to look at him and how he contributed to his team and the NFL as a whole. He is by no means a choke artist, and rather than cut and paste the long list of comeback drives he has done just take a look at the link below.

Realistically the past several years have tarnished Favre's legacy in the eyes of many. In his prime he was certainly one of the greatest to ever play, which is pretty much undeniable. 2/13/2009 4:15:56 PM |

i do not particuarly care for ben r. but, he has won two superbowls and made a hella throw on that drive. whether or not he has the regular season longevity of favre, he commands a winning team.
johnny u does not have the numbers compared to a lot of today's guys, but i'd take him over anyone else. favre is an inconsistent nitwit with great stats.
he's a lot like a rod. nobody argues he is a better player than jeter, but who would you rather have at bat in the playoffs? 2/13/2009 5:21:08 PM |

Quote : | "but who would you rather have at bat in the playoffs?" |
He has a winning record in the playoffs (for what that's worth) and a QB rating of 85
You can't discount the fact that several teams he took to the playoffs wouldn't have even made it there without him. He carried a lot of Packers teams a lot further than they should have gone.2/13/2009 5:32:17 PM |

i appreciate that a rod is one of the greatest offensive players of his generation. can't compare generations...but, what he done when it matters. as a yankees fan, hes been worthless thus far.

More fun Favre facts:
3 MVPs 1 losing season in 16 years Middle name: Lorenzo
Roethlisberger has been in the league for five years. He's a serviceable QB that plays with the best defense in the league: a luxury that Favre never had. Comparing the two is straight up dumb. Let's talk in ten years when Roethlisberger is too banged up to take the field every single Sunday. 2/13/2009 6:03:39 PM |

big ben already gets his ass pounded during the regular season
in fact, the steelers are one of the few teams i can name the backup qb for because you always see their asses warming up.
call me when big ben is as durable as brett and put up similar numbers

Roethlisberger won't last as long as Favre. He'll be hobbling around by his early 30's the way he holds on to the ball.
But he's quite a bit better than just a "serviceable QB". He makes big plays, without the kind of bonehead mistakes that have become Favre's hallmark over the last decade or so. 2/13/2009 6:07:12 PM |

And before you jump to the 'fuck him, he threw a ton of interceptions' argument:
QBs on maximus' list with a higher career interception percentage than Favre (3.3%)
Starr 4.4 Roethlisberger 3.6 Kelly 3.7 Unitas 4.8 Namath 5.8 Plunket (seriously?) 5.3 Moon 3.4 Luckman (are you fucking crazy?) 7.6 Theisman 3.8 Stabler 5.9 Fouts 4.3 Simms 3.4 Tarkenton 4.1
That second list was just a joke right?
