i'm trying to get an average of how much money people get to live off of after tuition and books are paid for... if you receive a grant from NC, how much did you have left? for rent, utils, booze, etc. thanks!

i would say, ummmm...... it depends entirely on how much your grant is for

i assume you're asking about the case where your "estimated cost of attending college" is paid in full by grants, scholarships, etc...

in that case, i get about $5k per semester

It really is.
I forget what it's called, but you don't use 'which' when referring to a person, since people are people, and not things. They are, but not for grammatical purposes. Different types of pronouns.

I don't feel like looking it up.

I'm grant-funded.

I clear about $700 biweekly after taxes. Tuition is payed for by the GSSP (Graduate Student Support Plan). I've only had to buy one book a semester so far.
