I tried a search but it kept locking up on me.

I'm currently looking at this tv: Samsung 40" LCD LN40A650

I originally wanted something in the mid-30" range, but this one just kept popping back up.

With points I've earned on my cc's plus my tax $$, it becomes pretty darn affordable (especially if I get the Sears price match + 10%). At any rate, does anyone have this tv? Most of the reviews I've come across are very favorable, with exception to the sound and the fact that the glossy screen can reflect glare almost as badly as some plasmas. Now, I don't currently have a surround sound system, so I don't imagine the built in speakers are much worse then what I'm already used to (coming from a pos 20" polaroid). As far as the reflecting goes, I don't think that should be a problem. Its hard to say anyway, without actually seeing it under the conditions in my room.

I know that I need to buy some HDMI cables. Thankfully everything is close together so I could probably get away with the shortest ones).

I do NOT own a standalone dvd player b/c my current tv has one built in. I've heard of dvd upconverters...but then I've heard that HD tvs should do this on their own using a regulard dvd player. I'm a little confused here. I don't want to spend a ton of money, but I don't want my dvds to look like crap on an hd screen. What are your rec's here?

Is there anything else I need to consider? Or will the tv, dvd player (or dvd upconverter), hdmi cables, and either my cable box or, if I switch, the direct tv box, get me started?
