I'm looking at something like the Dell 2409WA. its $499 though which is a bit pricey i suppose.

that ain't pricey. pretty regular pricing. it's easily to get boondoggled with all the crazy bottom barrel monitors out there.

my plan now is to find a used HP 2335 (same panel as a 23" Apple Cinema Display) IPS, 1900x1200. Theyre going for around $165ish refurbed and there is one in the local craigslist.

I'm looking to replace my 26" 1900x1200 TN panel monitor with 2 24" IPS monitors, preferably also at 1900x1200.

What does TWW recommend?

Dell released their 23" IPS yesterday which is like $300, maybe 400? That is if you can live with an inch smaller (thats what she said)

found the link.

If you do this, you are going to have to spend another 100-200 bucks on a hardware color calibrator, because the HP and Apple panels don't come calibrated from the factory and are often WAY off.

Dell's IPS monitors come factory calibrated and guaranteed accurate out of the box.

When you decide to go with Dell, make sure you lookup coupons @ slickdeals. Saved me $100 when i bought my 24" a few years back.
