I think they realized how little competition nVidia is providing at that price point, honestly. But I'm usually wrong about these sort of things

dunno, I heard all the 4x00 were dropping in price soon probably for the launch of RV790.

that is pretty strange...a ben's bargains search brings up a whole slew for ~$150 (512mb), with the most recent one (3/3/09) $113AR...but if you click on the link for the most recent one, it shows up as $230AR

you can get the 1gb versions for that price
