Wtf?

Actually, all icons everywhere are gone. Explorer windows and everything.

I had a similar problem last week. Each time I booted up XP, I was missing all my icons and the Start menu. I couldn't do anything except move the pointer around. Ctrl-Alt-Delete didn't work, I couldn't right click. All I had was my wallpaper.

I was about to reinstall windows, but just said screw it and installed Ubuntu instead. Now I'm wondering why I didn't try this OS sooner?

1) download TweakUI Powertoy
2) Install & click Rebuild icons
3) profit

Oh god, hilarious. I had Tweak UI on the last install, had no clue that capability was there.
