haha, i did this recently. bitch wouldn't respond. granted, my last name is very scarce in America, and I eventually got her grandfather's first name. she didn't seem to care though, even though there's less than 10 people in the country with said surname.

fuck that whowar.

if i don't know you, i don't add you.

i've had people send me messages telling me my name was wrong cause i looked exactly like someone else. when i explained that we were two different people they felt we established enough of a "bond" to friend me.

I get friend requested a lot from people I don't know. I'm starting to get the feeling that most people just start adding friends based on the People You May Know display without actually knowing who you are. Half the time I just ignore the request unless I recognize them. I know some people with like 2,000 friends, none of which post on their wall. It's kinda sad.

I wonder how many thread titles actually have a semi-colon in them.

also, i wish facebook would let you see the full-size profile photo when deciding whether to add friends, especially when you haven't seen them in a long time.

yeah, so you can see the people who decide the best method of showing off is get a picture with 12 people in it where you need a zoom feature to identify anyone in them

There is a way of doing that. If you look at the image location it is something like this:
Quote :

and gives you this thumbnail:

If you change the s in the last part of the url to an n like so:
Quote :

it makes it normal size:

I totally do this.

I added other Christies from NCSU and UNCW. the NCSU dude added me but the UNCW didn't.

oh well.

There's like 5 other people with my first and last name and I am always tempted to add them just for fun.

i, too, do this.
my last name is pretty uncommon, i have actually found a few cousins (my dad is the 9th of 10 children from michigan so i still haven't met all of my aunts and uncles)

and semi cool story...

when my mom gave birth she went to rex hospital. as soon as she walked in the door and told them her name (carla) she was immediately put in a room. no waiting at all.
a few days after mom and dad had taken me home dad gets a call. my mom had taken someone elses hospital room with the same last name.
her name was carol and they had reserved a room months before her due date. when they got there it was a frantic mess as the doctors and nurses tried to tell carol she had already had the baby (lol!)

anyway....i found someone in the area with the same last name as me and added him for shits and giggles.
after looking at the birthday i flipped. but he sent me the message first asking me if i was the girl who took his hospital room

(we also found out that our dads are bothh from holland, mich...so i bet we are somehow related)

/my $.02

*i don't know how the numbers work out...but they are the grandsons of my grandfather's 1st cousins

luckily i don't have to worry about this. no one but my family has the same last name anywhere in the world, uniqueness FTW.

also, i never accept friend requests unless i've met the person before IRL.

i accept most people as friends. but if your status or profile is updated in a way i don't like, i remove you

and i turn off facebook chat because i NEVER want to chat anyone when i log into facebook, even if i do actually know you.

i have a few "lists" that have higher privacy restrictions than others, though.

I bet there are far more than 10 people with the last name 'Oglethorpe' in the US.

There's a facebook group for people with my last name.

I have however facebooked 2nd cousins who don't have the same last name as me, except that their side of the family never told them about my side of the family, so they didn't believe me when I said we were related (my grandfather's sister converted to be a jehovah's witness and she never told her grandchildren, my 2nd cousins, that they branched off from a jewish family).

I usually just tell them that it'll be simple if we get married.

Then I tell them that I have to sample goods.

Next, we agree on a time and place to meet for me to pound that ass.

After the arrangement is made, I immediately hit up ancestry.com to make sure that we aren't related.

If no relation is found, I arrive at the appointment and handle my business by going balls-deep in her ass.

Once her ass is sore and she won't shit right for a week, I tell her that I recently changed my name and just haven't updated my Facebook yet.

I have her clean me off with her tongue, slap the bitch in the face, and roll out, never to speak to her again.
