My uncle in the military has tried both, he says dog meat is sweet (or at least what he had), and he liked it better.

get them outside some. shedding is seasonal for some. for others it dietary. have you tried giving them fish oil or cat food rich in omega 3-6-9?

feed them nutro or something really good and see if their shedding doesn't decrease.
