would you be interested in joining if it was only a small group of friends whose musical taste you already knew... or a larger group consisting of a lot of people you don't know well/at all? Which would you prefer?

Personally, I'd prefer to do it with a bunch of you people rather than a bunch of my friends who I already trade musical interests with. I think the exciting part would be getting a CD and having no idea what's going to be on it.

Just trying to figure out people's opinion on this.

(Mix CD group being a group of people who make a mix cd for someone else in the group once a month or something like that... the idea being to expand your musical exposure and to share music you like with other people)

i think this might go in that thread about things from the '90s - people share mp3s nowadays and haven't done this for years....or have they?

haha...

i had considered the ability to just compress an album of mp3's into a rar file and trade them that way. It would be ideal for people like me, but a lot of people I know it wouldnt work for. They need a CD they can put in their car and listen to while driving around for them to ever take the time to listen to it.

All I know is... I've been asked to do this with friends, but I thought it would include more than just our small circle of friends... and if it doesn't, I'm really not interested at all. I was wondering if other people would feel that way too.

i think it might be fun to join a group with random people just to see what shit they listen to. it'd be fun to join a group with people whose musical tastes you know so you could get some good cds out of the deal too.
