So I'm watching the hockey game, when I hear a dripping coming from my kitchen.

I look in the kitchen and my sink is overflowing, without me running any water.

I called the maintenance number and leave a message.

How long should I wait before I call a 24 hr plumber?

If it's doing damage I would go ahead and call a plumber and then demand that the amount spent be a credit on your next rent.

^if it's actively causing damage to the place (more than a drip overflowing) than call the 24-hr plumber. No landlord wants their junk messed up cause you were waiting. I assume

For the moment it has stopped.

I pulled the p-trap to drain the sink, dumped the water, and I have a bucket under the sink to catch water from the drain line.

hope this does not require stating but if you live in a house and anyone above you is running water make sure they stop immediately

if you are in an apt might wanna ask the people upstairs to hold off on any showers

call now

document everything

the last thing you want is your landlord saying that you didn't do shit while his property was being destroyed

My uncle used to do this kind of stuff for drucker and falk

Actually, I think he still does.

lemme call himk right quick

to clarify, unless
1) he's on call (unlikely)
2) clarion crossings is one of 'his' properties (which I happen to know it's not)

this'll be you paying him out of your pocket to him, as a licensed, independent after-hours plumber, not as a D&F worker

Maintenance guy called back.

Waiting again...

Thanks for the help.

[Edited on March 11, 2009 at 11:14 PM. Reason : .]

Probably not the smartest thing, but I'm going to bed. Dude said he was calling somebody else, then going to call me "right back." That was thirty minutes ago.

[Edited on March 11, 2009 at 11:42 PM. Reason : thankful my lease is up relatively soon.]
