I've got an SEO/PPC client who needs some maintenance/upgrade type stuff done on his ecommerce site. I'm a marketing guy, so obviously this is beyond my area of expertise. It'd help if you had at least a basic understanding of the underlying principles of SEO as it equates to less work for me later. Shoot me a PM if qualified and interested.

Does he currently have Joomla or is he migrating to Joomla?

This could be a project ranging from $1,000.00 to $15,000.00 depending on the maintenance and upgrades he wants. Refer him to Vaco or some other company in Raleigh and see what they think as far as hours and costs.

He already has a Joomla shopping cart installed, website's fully functional. His business has been supported primarily by phone sales so this year he wants to make some scratch from ecommerce. I know there's a shopping cart issue that needs to be resolved, but outside of that most of the work will be pretty basic web design, but it's important that the site be designed in a fashion that's conducive to the SEO process.

Any idea what the "shopping cart issue" is? I just went live with a Magento site two weeks ago and I can let you know how much time/money most of the stuff will take. Some of the Joomla cart stuff is very basic and included with any shopping cart extension - something anyone can do. Some of the stuff requires an advanced programmer - ie my site allows for International ordering and quotes FedEx Intl. Priority shipping to their zip with a 65% discount. Just that feature took like 2 days of work.

it seems like it'd be a quick fix, for some reason the cart takes users back to the home page after adding a certain number of items. I actually ran across a company in Arizona that will be able to fix things for a pretty reasonable price based on what one of their clients has told me.

On an unrelated note, I'm currently taking on new clients for SEO/PPC, if you ever find yourself in need of either, feel free to drop me a line.
