"Cool chart that shows the virginity rates among students at Wellesley College according to the student's major. I found some things particularly interesting:

1. 0% of students with 'studio arts' major are virgins

2. Virginity rates for Spanish major (43%) is much lower than virginity rates for English and French majors (50%)"

I want to see how everyone stacks up.

hey hey, I'm in the absolute top group, mathematics

and it took me a very long time to lose my virginity

and there are quite a few grad students in my department who I'd bet $300 are still virgins

maybe creepy people just gravitate to mathematics

actually it was on Digg, that's why the server is bombed. I looked for a cached version but couldn't find one. Anyway, it validly works, just very slowly.

[Edited on March 17, 2009 at 1:28 AM. Reason : ^^ Yes! I knew we'd hear from some math majors.]

i don't think it's really creepiness per se--prolly a combination of introversion and general nerdiness

[Edited on March 17, 2009 at 1:34 AM. Reason : oh, and if anyone didn't know, wellesley is a women's college]

^^^^^
it probably has a lot to do with the fact that mathematics involves a bare minimum of people-skills

if you can prove deep theorems, then you can be super-shy, eccentric, creepy, an asshole, or any combination thereof, and still teach at Harvard

that's one of the main reasons I got into math

Political Science & now Finance (MBA).

I was 17 (but in college -- oddly enough it wasn't to a girl I knew from college, but rather high school in CT).

I think we need a better representative of society than Wellesley, an all-female liberal arts college.

They've probably all scissored one another at some point, and I guess the scientist are straight and are too busy to worry about dong right now.
