i, too, prefer oatmeal stout to the aforementioned beer. vanilla porter is pretty hit and miss, imho.

I drank a pitcher of a vanilla porter last week. The beer was delicious, so therefore, I did not mind drinking many of them. However, I could not drink more because it made me full.

My problem with the Breckenridge Vanilla Porter is that the vanilla is too overpowering and artificial tasting...it's cloying.

I like different flavored beers (vanilla porters, spiced beers, fruit beers, coffee stouts, etc), but they need to be good beers first and foremost, supplemented by their added flavorings. Many brewers out there (amateur and pro) have a big tendency to overdo stuff like that, and the beer ends up a muddied, jumbled mess.
