05 3.6L Cadillac CTS is user replaceable? or do you need a bearing press (i.e. professional)?

Person hit a big speed bump or curb at 30mph and it grinds.

Anyone got DAT ALLDATA?

Thanks yo.

Hey man, I like to help people who are car stupid (like myself). It's how I've always been.

I'll send 69 a PM.

It could be much worse than they told me, but I'm not gonna help them replace a spindle or anything, they can go to a shop for that.

From the looks of it, hub assembly is $200+.

i don't feel like looking it up, but its a cakewalk:

take off the wheel, brake caliper, and rotor

unplug the abs wire from the hub

take the three bolts out from the back of the hub

put it all back on

it's a 30 min job tops, you dont even have a cv axle nut to deal with since its a rwd

[Edited on March 20, 2009 at 6:26 PM. Reason : make sure its not just the backng plate rubbing, it takes more than a bump to destroy a bearing]

the reason gm hubs are so damn expensive is that the abs sensor is built into it

Also check to see if it is a bent wheel hitting the caliper.
