I had a DLO Transpod which was a charging cradle/dock, and FM transmitter in one. The quality was great and hardly any static on a good station.

But on an ending note, I found one---a Belkin Tunecast II and it works just as well as my last one. Of course its not the quality of a direct connection, but great for $20 (especially when it goes for $90 at the store)

since we're talking docks, what's a good iPhone 3G charging dock that has audio out? i'm asuming the OEM one is crazy overpriced plus I'd prefer black if possible

hmm the Belkin I have supposedly supports everything except the iPhone of course. I'm a big fan of DLO products, you get what you pay for IMO.
