^^^ Part of the reason I quit going to a church I was frequenting for a while was because the assistant pastor was a remarkably closed-minded bible beater. The main pastor is fantastic and a great man who had the church doing great things, and the assistant pastor wasn't really a bad guy. It's just that I don't want to be a part of a church with a bunch of literalistic Christians who refuse to take into account the fact that the bible took shape around two millennia ago and that perhaps following its basic teachings is more important than following the exact, controversial wording.
