There is a current trend in the world of bad officiating that is starting to annoy me as it becomes more prevalent. That trend is the one where the best teams and the best players are simply given the benefit of the doubt. Therefore unc, duke, etc, players drive in and there may be little or no contact but the whistle is blown. Reverse the situation and there is all kinds of contact but no whistle is blown. The thing is, the best teams don't need all this help. It dilutes the game of basketball and it is lazy officiating.

Let me give you my perspective, kind sir:

UNC and Duke do get more calls than other ACC schools, during ACC conference play. That ultimately hurts them in the NCAA tournament when refs call games "fairly."

I don't have much of an issue with "good teams" or "good players" "getting calls", thats kind of universal in basketball at all levels, but conference officiating does not prepare any of our teams for March. Its weak as fuck. John Swofford can slurp my dillz.

It just seems to me that it has gotten so much worse. Even to the point that the announcers will say, "No, you're not gonna come off the bench and get that call like one of the more proven guys will." I've heard that exact same statement twice this year(back in the regular season). It shouldn't be an accepted aspect of the game imo.
