It's good to get the practice with it, and probably more importantly, to realize just how much of a handicap MOPP gear is.

about as fun as aids

[Edited on March 30, 2009 at 7:46 AM. Reason : because i know there are some people, like me, who are having to look it up lol..]

It isn't done often but our full PPE getup looks similar to this. Might have to wear everything but the gas mask during the outage.

i've got some pictures somewhere of playing basketball in gas masks...i'll post one if i find them.

hehreminds me of some troops that were in here a while back for some tests. I took them to lunch after we were done, and they were telling me about having to wear their artic gear, and how limiting/miserable/hot it is...

Korean exercises are the suck...week long stretches of this shit, MOPP gear + flak vest+ helmet + physically demanding work...so much fun

^ Been there man. I was stationed at Osan. One exercise I got "selected" to replace a pylon wiring harness in full MOPP gear while being evaluated. You can't do shit with those big ass gloves on not to mention how much it sucks once you start sweating into the gas mask...Still didn't suck as bad as safety wiring A10s at 3 in the morning in February...

Nothing like soaking wet MOPP gear to weigh you down on the 2 mile walk into work. Yay!
