Ive been thinking of switching from Time Warner to DirecTV. I was originally planning on keeping cable internet, but the thought occured to me, would dsl handle my internet needs?

I play WoW and so does my roommate, other than that the internet is just used for general web page browsing.

So I'm curious, how bandwidth intensive is wow, and do you folks think dsl can handle it?

So long as you don't have latency issues, DSL should be fine.

You can get 8ms first hop pings with dsl if you convince the tech (or maybe walk them through how to in the DSLAM) to turn off interleaving.

WoW isn't bandwidth intensive, it's latency reliant. Who is the DSL provider in your area? Embarq? Troll http://www.dslreports.com you might be able to find some help with the interleaving/fastpath issue. Does Embarq offer naked DSL now?

It looks like the best dsl provider here is Qwest, they offer 1.5 Mbps as opposed to Vorizen which offers 384 kbps for about 40% less.
