I may have a 2.995 or something like that and need a 3.0

Is it up to the particular dean in charge of that major or if it is set to have a 3.0 I must take summer courses to get the 3.0 then try again?

I am pretty sure they cut off the digits. i.e. your 2.995 is a 2.9.

I think ^ is right and that a face-to-face meeting is your best bet. Your claim isn't unreasonable, and they might be reasonable people. If you don't talk to anybody though you will probably be automatically denied.

They don't round, sorry. You'll probably have to take a summer class.

if they don't, you can see if you can get a provisional acceptance (that's what i had to do)

I think I'd argue significant digits. You got a 3.0... just not a 3.000.

I know the university doesn't round for things like cum laude/magna cum laude thresholds.

If they don't round then what is the purpose of putting digits out to three decimal places? Since GPA's are given in two decimal places and from what your saying they don't round up then the third number is basically has no purpose.

I know this is being picky but the GPA calcualtor only allows you to enter in your current credit points out to two decimal places when on your transcript it is given in three digits. Would be much easier to have just gotten a better grade in a course a while back.

I had a 2.973 and supposedly they had to fill out an exception form.
