So, I went to Greensboro for an interview this morning. I was supposed to be meeting with 5 different people for 30 minutes each, starting at 9am.

I get there and about halfway through the first session the power goes out. At the end we go to the lobby and everyone has to evacuate to the lawn. While we were standing out there, the four technical people I was supposed to see jump me and interview me council style. We all go back inside and they decided they have talked with me enough and let me go early. So, interviewed for about an hour and a half compared to two and a half hours...not bad . Although, driving 3 hours total for that did kinda suck.

What awkward interviews have you had?

When I intereviewed for Westinghouse it was in three stages. For the technical part I brought some work I had done/been a part of inluding my senior design project. I explained the section I did and handed them the projects. Only for them to flip through and not find it. I had read through my entire section and then forgot to put it back before going to kinkos to make copies. That was slightly awkward.

almost exact thing happened to me, but it was a snow/ice storm that caused the power outage

and instead of get interviewed i just sorta got a flashlight tour of the plant

I met my interviewer at Sammy's. We ate nasty food and shot the shit. I got the job.

Speaking of shooting the shit...

I have a friend that has an awesome story about an interview with a fortune 500 company in a hotel room (like a 2-queen-size-bed room, not a conference room). Basically he walks in expecting to see 2 people but it's only one person, a woman. After the introductions he hears the toilet flush and a guy, the other interviewer, walks out of the bathroom followed by a stank cloud that hung around the room for a while. They ask him b.s. interview questions like the ol' "you are in your 2-seater car, stop at a stoplight and see your grandma, the girl of your dreams, and a stranger at a bus stop when your grandma starts having a seizure..." with the smell of shit in the air.

I felt akward hearing the story.
