it sort of sucks now. i just noticed how terrible music videos look nowadays ... and all the once good rappers are old. and the new rappers just love to dance and clown.

I've always distinguished between rap and hip hop. Hip hop still pumps out good shit, rap hasn't been fun for me since the mid-late 90s.
4/8/2009 9:05:05 PM
yeah ... i understand Rap vs Hiphop, but the genre as a whole has lost it. i mean people through up these good under under ground dirty pack back rappers, but they really aren't that good either. Hiphop was about being good and having a sense of star power too (or swagger is what they call it now).and most of this new jack sh!t is borderline homo. or like pseudo-homo.

how could rap go downhill?
4/8/2009 9:36:40 PM
Nothing funnier than the rednecks adding their 2 fucking cents.
4/8/2009 9:39:00 PM
its gotten to the point where a producer makes everything about the song down to the point where he even tells the artist what to say and how to say it in some cases. Thus, the "singer" has no connection with the lyrics. TuPac would frown upon such.

hip hop is a culture that encompasses rap. as well as other things. like graffiti, breakdancing and DJ'ing. its a part of a larger genre of things. so you shouldn't really say as much "rap bad, hip hop good..." but "good rap, bad rap"[Edited on April 8, 2009 at 11:26 PM. It was about the time Rap went from "thug life" to "club life". It used to be all about social injustice and life on the street. But now it's about, "The girl got low, got low, got, low."In truth, once you start getting sponsored by Sony, you can't go around talking about killing cops. So you turn to hittin' it in the club - i.e. substituting sexual prowess to show your manlyness.

When Tupac moved to cuba.Actually, I think it started to suck after Eminem became the best lyrical rapper, and all the black guys just started dancing around with big booty hoes and not even trying to compete lyrically.
