4/9/2009 10:59:02 AM
EPIC TWW MEETUP EXPOSED?
4/9/2009 11:00:03 AM
Unrelated, just fair warning. A place called 'La Cocina' is probably the worst Mexican food I've ever had. Went there because I had a coupon. The salsa was terrible, as was the red sauce they used on their dishes. Just short of ketchup, even the salsa. They should just go ahead and rename it La Cochina.

no?http://www.newraleigh.com/articles/archive/el-cerro-raleigh-bar-grill-mission-valley/
4/9/2009 11:16:40 AM
btttI'll be there around 12:15 or so today. Who else is down?
4/13/2009 11:36:07 AM
damn, when did rockola close?
4/13/2009 11:50:01 AM
Probably a year or more ago?
4/13/2009 11:50:25 AM
They stopped grilling hamburgers in the middle of service and started making tacos.
4/13/2009 11:51:23 AM
I ate lunch there Thursday. The food is equivalent to El Rodeo.
4/13/2009 11:52:38 AM
There are two El Cerro's back in my hometown (Havelock), food isn't bad at all. Of course the different wait staff doesn't guarantee it, but it shouldn't be all that different
4/13/2009 11:53:00 AM
heh. I was in there around a year ago talking to the GM. He did mention that times were getting pretty tough for the restaurant.
4/13/2009 11:53:18 AM
bit on the broke side. i think i will be doing a lot of eating in... i wanted to go too
4/13/2009 11:55:34 AM
I know Z went with a group of 13 others. He said the food was good and fast, but the service needed a lot of work.Of course, he's comparing it to fiesta mexicana - not a fair comparison.
4/13/2009 11:59:03 AM
You can't compare to fiesta mexicana. I live near the one in Cary near the Food Lion. That place is awesome.
4/13/2009 12:04:16 PM
NOW OPEN: Your mom's legs.
4/13/2009 12:12:11 PM
That's just fish tacos though.
4/13/2009 12:19:34 PM
OK, so they don't have their liquor license yet. They can't serve beer because of that. So we went to Ruckus instead.
4/13/2009 1:28:29 PM
4/13/2009 1:30:01 PM
Just what we need... another fucking Mexican restaurant.
4/13/2009 1:44:53 PM
El Cerro Grande on S. Saunders is badass. If this place is the same I'll be very pleased.
4/13/2009 1:52:11 PM
4/13/2009 1:59:22 PM
It seems like every time I go into El Cerro Grande on S. Saunders, I'm the only white person amongst a ton of hispanics.Only way I could tell if it's good Mexican food or not.
4/13/2009 2:01:29 PM
saxapahaw is a long ass way to drive to get mexican food...like 10 minutes from where i grew up in haw river
4/13/2009 2:01:35 PM
4/13/2009 2:02:27 PM
it's really not that far from chapel hill... i was just saying it was like if you were going in that direction on 54
4/13/2009 2:03:17 PM
Ate there last night, its really good, and the place inside is pretty snazzy. 10/10, would recommend....although, they don't have their liquor license yet, so no beer yet
4/20/2009 8:19:50 PM
Two weeks in a row they've missed out on my patronage because they don't have beer yet. Went to Ruckus again today for lunch.
4/20/2009 8:28:21 PM
Fiesta Mexicana ftw
4/20/2009 8:31:01 PM
^i agree- I've only been there a couple of times, but i feel like I have 8 people waiting on me everytime I goI need to give this new place a shot though- yall keep usninformed and post when they get their liquor license (I like a good light beer with my mexi food)
4/20/2009 9:13:01 PM
4/20/2009 9:40:37 PM
There are to El Cerro's here in Havelock not half bad but nothing like Dos Taquitos in Raleigh. If its anything like the one here they will have good lunch specials.
4/20/2009 10:20:36 PM
i swear the area around ncsu is a friggin wasteland when it comes to restaurants...and this shit doesn't help at all. hell rockolo had pretty decent food considering...i have to go to/near crossroads or cameron village to get quality lunch eats. costs me an extra 15 minutes or so but it's a good trade off.]
4/20/2009 11:06:54 PM
set em up
