Have a buddy with the shadow. If you want winMo without touch screen it's pretty nice. To me it's a transition phone - slides and is trendy, but can still get business done too. None of the GPS, tethering, touchscreen goodness - but it still has the backend to run the full set of Windows Mobile apps.I'm an IT guy, so for me it would be the BB8820 or the G1. I also think the G1 is getting new firmware in the coming weeks. Should add even more toys to it. 8820 is rock solid, as is the whole 88-- line.

Hasn't t-mobile been rolling out the service where you can phone over wi-fi for free? I saw a demo where the transition between wifi and cell was perfect - not even a click or pop. Pretty amazing stuff and cuts down your phone bill at the house.http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/david_pogue_on_cool_phone_tricks.htmlskip ~3:00 into the talk. I'd get the Curve instead of the Pearl.I wanted a pearl originally, but now realize I would miss the full keypad.

^^Well, I'm still on a family plan with my parents....We got the smallest data plan which includes unlimited data, unlimited text, nights and weekends after 7 pm, 500 mobile minutes, and unlimited mobile-to-mobile. That plan is $89.99 plus 2 extra lines(family plan), but it didn't make much of a difference since we use to have a plan that had like 900 or so minutes and we only use maybe 200 a month b/c of my circle. It ended up being like $130 plus tax a month, but wasn't a big deal since it was basically what we were paying before(before my sister switched to at&t that is). I didn't really care if I got the blackberry but since the price didn't really change it didn't really matter. After the mail in rebate($100) the phone itself was $20.
