Last night I visited this new restaurant/brew pub which is downtown on Wilmington Street. I was mainly in the upstairs "Hive" bar, but the downstairs section was packed with people and the food looked pretty decent. I checked out the menu and it looks solid, too. I sampled, and enjoyed, a few of their in-house beers including KWAK (which came in a ridiculous glass with a wooden holder). The atmosphere was chill and the place was amazing with a lot of highlights on the old architecture. There's a lot of history in that building, apparently. Didn't make it out on the roof patio, due to rain, but it looks sweet in the pictures from the first link.I would recommend this place. It makes me wish I worked downtown so I could stop in for breakfast or grab a quick lunch.http://www.newraleigh.com/articles/archive/the-busy-bee-returns-to-wilmington-street/http://www.busybeeraleigh.com/

http://www.busybeeraleigh.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=44&Itemid=60maybe we're looking at different menus or something, but I think some of those things sound fresh and delicious, and there are many options for less than $10.

unless you live off fast food and hot dog stands, how is that overpriced?

first off that menu is not the same exactly. secondly why on earth would you pay 8 for just a sandwhich, no side and no drink. lol and from what her daughter said the portions arent very big.theres even places downtown where 8$ can get me a good salad drink and chicken. and thats still more than i would too spend, rather bring my own lunch.

i ate there yesterday! it was awesome, we sat on the roof. the sandwiches do come with sides, i got the chicken sandwich and fried green tomatoes. the portions aren't small and my sandwich was only $8...the people working there were all really nice too. i can't wait to go back

I havent been there yet, but by looking at their website, it looks to be a pretty cool place. The menu is solod for what its supposed to be and nothing on it is overpriced at all. if you want to eat downtown, get used to paying $7-10 for a salad or sandwich. The days of the combo meal are disappearing fast.

i definitely want to try this. bringing lunch is obviously way more economical even if you have fast food options (and likely, healthier, too). but if you only eat out one or two days a week, i think $7 should fit into a budget. i guess you just have to weigh your options--if eating out is important to you, you make it work. if you'd rather save money for something else, then you do that. even a meal at like panera is expensive now. i just noticed that the other day. but i guess you get chips there (i have never been to the busy bee so i don't know what you get). but that is still like $7 or 8. anyway, i definitely want to try this place eventually
