I'm on a loaner laptop and don't want to install Microsoft Office on it. Can I download Open Office, make a powerpoint presentation, and open it (on campus) with M$ Powerpoint to format it? I need it in Powerpoint format for my presentations

yes, all open office documents can be opened in their M$ counterpart. However M$ 2007 cannot be opened by open office. And if you use screwy transitions or text it will be all screwed up when you open it.
