Orlando Hudson - free agent signing of the year for LA. First Dodger to hit for the cycle since 1970 (Wes Parker).

The Dodgers have the best commentator in the majors

And that was true before Harry Kalas died

Yeah fuck Vin. Give me Tim McCarver or Joe Buck any day.

You're probably a Kornheiser fanboy too.

^haha I edited. We have season tix to the Dodgers through work and have been a fan since whenever.

I haven't been to a game yet this year but I did go to the WBC. Below pics are from the USA/Japan game.

These are our actual seats too, our company has had them for 50 years.

OH HAI ALYSSA MILANO! Her seats are like 10 feet away. She's a huge fan.

McCarver? Buck? Surely you can't be serious. McCarver is a bitter asshole who just happened to catch (mediocre at both catching and announcing), and Joe Buck rode his Dad's coattails.

Gotta give credit where credit is due...Scully is a HOF'er for a reason.

Wow, thats like if you said you were a fan of Jim Nance or Bob Costas and I said that you were probably a fanboy of Dennis Miller on MNF

What logic would lead you to believe that me liking one of the greatest broadcasters ever would also mean I would like one of the most annoying and non-focused announcers ever? T Korn is cool on PTI though, just not MNF

[Edited on April 15, 2009 at 5:19 PM. Reason : PTI, not ATH]

Tree, my sarcasm aimed at Slave Flamous was lost... I grew up listening to Vin and we have season tix, haha. I can't stand McCarver or Buck, Scully is the greatest ever.

And how can a black man hate Scully? That's worse then black on black crime...He called Jackie Robinson's first season and said this after Aaron hit 715....

Quote :
"What a marvelous moment for Atlanta and the state of Georgia. What a marvelous moment for the country and the world. A black man is getting a standing ovation in the Deep South for breaking a record of an all-time baseball idol. And it is a great moment for all of us, and particularly Henry Aaron."

^ Awesome quote.

I wish the media had made a bigger deal about Jackie Robinson day in LA as opposed to the NY and the Mets' new stadium. What connection do the Mets have with Robinson, other than Wilpon having grown up in Brooklyn? By the coverage, you'd think that Jackie was a Met, especially with all of the Robinson tributes at the new stadium. Just odd.

Kershaw strikes out 13, 1 ER, 1 BB and gets a no decision. Go figure.

Broxton throws flat-out gas.

Hudson is en fuego. He wants to get PAID next year.

The Dodgers are 29-9 at Chavez Ravine since last year's All-Star break, the best record in the majors during that stretch.

They outscored their opponents 50-17 this homestand, recording 77 hits, 11 home runs and 31 walks while batting a collective .367.

2-run rally in the top of the 9th vs. the Gints. Ramirez doubles; Ethier doubles; Kemp triples.

Ramirez 3-3 (all doubles) and 2 BB....OB % almost .500.

Once Martin and Blake start hitting, this lineup is going to be NASTY. 6 of 8 starters hitting over .300.

Go Blue!

The Dodgers didn't choose who they played. BFD.

You beat the teams you are supposed to beat. Plain and simple.

i went to the game on friday (to see peavy pitch) -- was subjected to that wonderfully anti-climatic walk-off... walk, ouch

i've been quite pleased with the ushers at dodger stadium letting me sit in the empty $50-100 seats though (with my $20 ticket), the ushers at petco were never as kind about looking the other way...

also a fan of the $2 pbrs at the short stop on sunset on the way to the stadium

otherwise, LA sucks

and the fact they haven't played a team with a winning record at home is a plain and simple reason why the record needs an *

I'm sure Ty Cobb and the 1911 Tigers played a really tough opening schedule when they set the record, against the likes of stellar players like Tex Jones, Patsy Dougherty and Ivy Olson

Maybe we should give Cal Ripken shit for his consecutive games record since he occasionally selfishly played sick or slightly injured which ended up costing his team some wins

Baseball is about numbers...the Dodgers just set a record...it is what it is...its not like the whole team is all juiced the f*ck up...they have a pretty damn good offense, and some decent pitching, and a little luck
