places like food lion used to have big boxes outside for you to recycle, but i haven't seen any recently...i have 4 30-gallon-sized trash bags full of clean plastic bags (accumulated over the past year before is started using the reusable bags), but i don't know where to take themsuggestions? i mean, if you know of some place like a harris teeter that has a box outside for stuffing them in, i'll just drop them off there

harris teeter.I recently switched to the reusable bags as well, and I hate that i hadn't done it until now. Honestly, I don't care so much about the environmental impact as much as I love being able to fit a cart full of groceries in 4 bags, and not having to make multiple trips from the car to the kitchen anymore.

HT at Jones Franklin is where I take mine.

anything <20 bags = one trip

I see someone else has mastered the two bags on each finger trick

Just be careful about taking them to grocery stores. I worked at Food Lion for a long time, and I found out that the Store Manager of one of the stores I worked at, would just throw the recycled bag of bags in the regular trash.

DO YOU NOT RECYCLE AT HOME, YOU NEANDERTHAL??

i mean it just floats off into outer space eventually, right?

but of course

Just drop them off at any old folks home. Grannies love those things.

i was going to stuff them in the bag box at the harris teeter on the corner of tryon and walnut...dude saw me coming and just told me to give them to him, he'd take them in since he was emptying to box anywayi'd happily recycle at home, but i'm pretty sure the city won't take plastic bags...in fact, their pick-up recycling program sucks donkey balls...i left broken down boxes out there a couple of times and they always leave me a reproachful note about how if it doesn't fit in the provided container, which hardly fits a full 13-gallon bag of recycling, then they won't take itit's like they're saying "we support recycling, but we'd rather you just throw it all away!"

I use my plastic bags to pick up dog poop.If you like, take your bags over to Carolina Pines dog park, they'll always need bags

^^reminds me of nyc - no plastic bags, all boxes (like even cereal ones, practically) must be flattened. any bigger boxes must be flattened and tied/taped together. they have separate cans - one for paper/cardboard, the other for plastic bottles/aluminum cans/glass. the garbage guys practically sort through it all and will fine the landlord $300 for any/every mis-sort.
