I'm sure some people have driven extensively on I-80. When I move I'm going to be visiting NYC to see some friends first before making my way down to NC so I'll be driving the entirety of I-80 from SF to NYC.

What are some cool day trips/side trips? I'm planning on making this is a week long drive and I want to do/see some cool things.

I turn to you TWW.

I-80 follows the original transcontinental railroad. You actually stay within sight of it the entire time you cross the Rockies.

I know you jerk off to baseball

so why not time the trip to see games in Wrigley, PNC and The Jake

or at least 2 out of the 3, as the schedule permits

I've been to the Jake for a Mets game before...

I'm more looking for the West coast part (Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, etc). I've been to Chicago, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, etc.

Holy fuck, Cheyenne hotels are $$$$$$$$$ in July. Christ... what the hell is so awesome about that spot? They're like Manhattan type prices.

to me, this type of thing might be fun, only if there were a lotta other people in the car...and i think i could only do it one-way and fly back

once you ride by somethin, it'd be old news on the way back

It's not so much that it's fun, but it's cheaper than shipping my car. It is interesting though. When I moved out here I took I-40, now I'm taking the Northern route.

I stayed in Memphis, Amarillo and Flagstaff when I moved out here. Flagstaff was pretty cool... Plus my hotel was right above a bar that I just stayed at until like 2am. Cool locals there...
