Is anyone else plagued by this?

Every month or so when I'm drinking, doesn't matter, sometimes it's 1 beer or 10, I break out in splotches starting on my face and sometimes half the way down my body. From what I've read online this is very common(50%) in the Asian population, but I however, am 190% white. Generally I'll chug about 4/5 cups of water and make it a night or keep drinking(generally ok, if the redness goes down).

From what I've read I'm apparently more prone to getting liver and esophageal cancers and digestive tract cancer.

If I drink a lot I get red in the face. damn Asians being allergic to alcohol. but that is why you don't see me drinking too much, well one of the other reasons.

it's not really that asians are allergic I guess some people would call that an allergy

but really it's an inability to process alcohol


they just lack an alcohol dehydrogenase


as do native americans and the womenz (which is a double dose for you)

I have a friend just like this. He's like 1/1000th asian and he breaks out drinking.

just must have been one of the few genes you got.

i occassionally have that reaction... mostly with liquor
the first time it happened i was maybe 18 and ran around screaming my face was on fire
and i still get picked on for that

Man, that really sucks. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have my alcoholic crutch to lean on periodically.
