I've been on both ends of this and it's really not that bad. I mean if they aren't your friends or you have no idea what they are going through i can see where it could come across as annoying.



^^i agree, i could never be completely sober. Whoever was the safe guardian during a tripping day usually smoked so they could atleast enjoy themselves.

I'm fine with people that drink alcohol and smoke cigs/pot/opium, but anything beyond those drugs will depend upon how well I know the person. A select few people that I know won't allow anyone to smoke pot in their house, and insist that people do it outside. For health reasons this makes sense, but otherwise it's a real buzzkiller.

I had a roommate/friend that was shooting up the one night in his room. I was asleep with my ex-girlfriend in my room....I had no idea what was happening. Anyway, I woke up to the smell of smoke, and came out of my room in my boxer shorts with dinosaurs, hearts, and diamonds printed on them. I saw my roommate/friend dragging his comforter (sleeping bag unzipped) through the living room, and out to the back porch. It was on fire. He then proceeded to drown it in the hot tub.
Apparently after he shot up a couple of times, he lit a cig. and then nodded off. Caught that bitch on fire...

The house smelled like shit for 2 days. FUCK THAT NOISE SON! HE ALMOST KILLED ME!

I don't like being around drugs period. If people are smokin up, I'll leave the room. This created tension with my ex because her and her friends smoked all the damn time. One of the factors that lead to us breakin up. I try to be a law abiding citizen and keep my record clean because of the career path I've chosen for myself.

I am at a point in my life where I no longer tolerate illegal substances in my home. However, there was a time when people came to my house to do their drugs because it was a 'safe place' to chill out. I am just too old for that shit now. I have been around just about everything except IV drug users.

Now in someone else's house, that's their business. I could care less about people smoking pot, but I would probably leave if there were more than one or two people strung out on something else.

Yeah I think its a matter of maturity and mental toughness, and I don't really tolerate it. So its hard for me to associate with people that are dependent on some substance, especially illegal substances. If people are still smoking pot and getting high all the time at this age, then obviously they haven't grown quite yet.

However, if someone is a "lets have fun" type of user that uses maybe one or twice a month, then cool whatever. Respect my decisions and just don't do it around me please.

I just think its funny that when I am put in a situation with a bunch of abusers/addicts, they make me look like the bad guy when:
1. I refuse to join in the toke, line, or whatever
2. I casually leave until they are done tokin, snorting, whatever.

I have never had any problems with people respecting my decision not to use. Now, I have done my fair share of recreational drugs, but I abstained more often than not. I saw just about everything and generally turned it down and no one ever had a problem with that.

this is how i feel. except i guess i wouldn't say fair share because i haven't done a lot. but my friends, and people i've been friends with, would never be mad at me for not doing something. and i was never someone to like do things at giant parties with people i didn't know. and i haven't seen everything. but i feel the same way about people respecting my decision about saying no.

I never had people get pissed at me for not joining in or not being cool with use, until I was out with some friends and they wanted to smoke in a tree at the intersection of oberlin and wade avenue. Once I expressed my concern based on our location and being out in broad daylight (especially after a cop just drove by), everyone got pissed at me, but I went home.

Or when this same group of friends smoked up in the parta-johns at the fucking Obama inauguration with billions cops and national guards men everywhere. I expressed my concern, and was again laughed at. Needless to say, I'm no longer friends with these people.

I'm cool with it in the privacy of your own damn home, but once you put me at risk for your illegal activities even though I'm not participating (I'm just a spectator), then fuck you.
