good grief, will you get over yourself. Peyton Manning sucks and so does Tennessee. Will Bruce Pearl ever stop embarrassing that "University" and put his shirt on. What a disgrace to college athletics.

where do they get money? i mean i know they don't make a whole lot, but i'm sure they bring in barely anything. do they ride buses around or what? is there NBA revenue sharing?

Chamique Holdsclaw just came back to the league after briefly retiring. That pic is before the actual press conference took place.

Chamique Holdsclaw, former UT four-time All-American, two time NPOY, and still UT men's or women's all-time leading scorer and rebounder. Played with Kellie (Jolly) Harper.

i'm like the other posters, where do they get any money?

i know for a fact that they give away 80% of the tickets that get people in seats at games. with arena costs, traveling costs, and player costs, i can't imagine any of those teams making a dime

and really sad "press" conference btw. is it even called that if no press show up? but it can't be a conference either because only one person is there. has to be at least two people there to have a conference.

obviously the NBA loses money on it, i heard though NBA uses it as a tax write off which makes sense

The average WNBA player salary is $45,000 a year. salary cap per team is $700K.

^just from what i have heard and read. stuff like they give away huge amounts of tickets to boys and girls clubs and other things like that. I'm sure 80% is exaggerating a little but they do give away a large number of tickets. Not to mention the tickets they do sell are not very expensive.

The tax write off thing makes sense.

I dunno man, I think a football autographed by the players on your favorite team is pretty sweet, especially if you display it nice

I plan on having a "man cave" type room one day in my house with autographed jerseys/memorabilia of my favorite players/teams on the walls. I dont think its childish

now if you wait for players to come out of a locker room or chase them down in restaurants to get an autograph, thats a little over the top, but this was an event to meet the players, big deal

I'd rather just get a picture with somebody but thats just me

The last autograph I got was an Emeka Okafor autographed basketball, but it was free with my season tickets so I took it

Agreed about waiting outside of locker rooms and stuff though...thats for kids

I only have two autographs:

1. A hat signed by Chief Knockahoma, former beloved racial stereotype. I got it when I was at a Braves game in 95.
2. An 8x10 signed by Motorboat Jones, a guy who played for the WS Spirits when I was a kid. I ordered it off eBay two or three years ago.

I got Todd Fuller (fuck yeah!), Tom Brady (gift, wtf?), Wade Boggs and Eric Davis (almost 20 years ago). Maurice Jones-Drew sent a BDay card to my son on his first birthday with an 8x10, that was wayyy random - I tutored him at UCLA in 04-05.

The only autographs I own are the entire 92-93 Charlotte Hornets team on a miniature bball. Mugsy is my alltime favorite baller. Had I been able to I would have busted a nut when he read one of the many letters I wrote him during one of those halftime specials he did.

exactly. Its not like I randomly tracked him down and got it, or waited outside the locker room... it was at Fan Day before the spring game in a session designed for fans to get autographs. Hell, there was an 80 year old man there that had a ball with Reggie White, Peyton, Alvin Harper, Jamal Lewis, Haynesworth, Henderson, Al Wilson, and Willie Gault on it. I thought it was pretty damn cool.

not trolling.

he's an awful coach. sweet 16 is the best he could do with the talent he had? he does more acting like a fool than coaching. he blows and UT basketball is on the downward

yes, you are trolling...

1. that talent is only there because of him to begin with
2. the team was REALLY young this year
3. you dont know shit about college bball if you think they are on the way down. Learn some history (look at where UT was 5 years ago... 15 years ago and tell me they are going down) and follow recruiting (class they got last year and what they have so far for this year). Also look at attendance, Ranking, RPI, etc. No clue where you got that unless you are being a complete moron and using one year vs. the next to claim a whole program is "going down"
4. if I remember correctly he is either the fastest or second fastest coach in the history of college bball to win 300 games. I think Roy is ahead of him, maybe Izzo too. Yeah, hes horrible

i think bruce pearl is a blithering idiot.

he's done about the best he will do, and his "talent pool" will now all swim towards the ever increasingly sketchy Calipari.
