it's only funny in the sense that it really bothers some people...for example, i don't think dogma would be nearly as amusing if we didn't all know that it really pissed off some people

that said, i make fun of christians and christianity all the time, and i'm pretty "devout"

in itself, it is not funny

but when incorporated into a joke, it can make the joke a lot funnier than it would be otherwise
