ive enjoyed it when i've gone and i'm not a huge golf fan. i've gone from hole to hole and i've also just sat in the stands at 18. either way is fun.

It's a great course, and usually an awesome tourney. the restaurant at which i work caters to the maintenance crew the week before, tomorrow actually. i've done the catering once and got to putt on the 18 green. met a few caddies. you oughta go, the course is in great shape.

right now on the Golf Channel they are talking about the real possibility of a major being held at Quail Hollow. they were also talking about the ryder cup beign there. that would be BA.


they also said that there is currently no talks at all for Pinehurst to host another us open anytime soon.

yeah alot of that greenery is fake, i mean im sure the course looks badass but they like to add effects to make it even more perfect. it makes my job hard as fuck.

I went on saturday and it was pretty awesome. Only thing that sucks is the lack of grandstands for the public. I've been to 3 pro tournaments (granted they were majors) and its so much nicer to have grandstands if for no other reason than it helps with the crowd on the ground. That course can't handle tiger/phil crowds around 10-13 where they all converge, and it would be a disaster unless they came up with another traffic pattern. Also, that was the worst placement/lack of scoreboards I've ever seen. They also need a crosswalk on #9 to give another option for getting from the back 9 to the front 9 without going up to the crowds at 18/1 while people are still teeing off. A cross walk on 10 may also help with the crowds down in that intersection behind the green.


That said, its actually a pretty good course to watch a golf tournament on. There are lots of places on the fairways where you can watch the entire hole and have a great view of everything, although you're not going to be close to anything. While there aren't many "stadium" views except on 17 and 18, at least there are decent places to sit around most of the greens.

I also had a hospitality pass so I ended up with a bunch of free shit. Good saturday until the lighting right when tiger finished, so it was a clusterfuck getting out of there. We tried to stay until the last groups came through 18 but I wasn't about to stay out in that.
