Any of you computer nerds use your laptop and connect it to a HD TV to stream HD content? Is the quality any good, or does it depend on your laptop? I was looking at laptops with HMDI output which I think is the highest quality output...oh, and fuck Tech Talk.

you want to stream HD? I don't think that's possible. You want to watch HD from your laptop to your TV? It will look pretty nice but there will be a smaller color palette than watching blu-ray or something. Meaning, you will see more stepped color gradations (similar to watching a dvd on your laptop).Either way, it's a cheap cable so go for it. http://www.monoprice.com

I'm actually looking for a laptop. What kind of specs does the laptop need (besides HDMI output) to give a good picture? Video card specs I guess? Not sure if any of the other shit matters as long as you buy a new decent laptop.Just trying to watch streaming HD content from my laptop to my HD TV.. I probably phrased it wrong in my OP.[Edited on April 27, 2009 at 9:12 PM. Reason : [p]
