Fuck that noise.I'll see it if I can get in for free, but that's about it. I'll wait until the '16 minutes of new material' comes out on Youtube.

Does it count as boycotting if I never had any desire to see it in the first place?
4/30/2009 10:07:38 AM
Here's what I didn't understand about the 3rd one. Ok so there is that mutant boy whose power was that any mutant that came around him would lose their mutant power. During the scene when the Juggernaut and Kitty Pryde are going to get to the boy, the Juggernaut loses his power when he comes near the boy and knocks himself out when he tries to barrel through the wall. Juggernaut though wasn't a mutant and shouldn't be affected by the boy right? His power came from the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak. If they really made the Juggernaut a mutant with no connection to his brother Charles Xavier, then they really fucked up. I was quite mad after seeing it. I know that live action versions of comic books aren't always on point, but you can't screw up such an important and recognizable character in the X-Men series like the Juggernaut.
4/30/2009 10:18:37 AM
^Well yeah that's true, but in the movie they just made Juggernaut a mutant. It would have been extremely difficult to explain the whole Crimson Gem of Cyttorak thing without having to introduce alien civilizations and space pirates and Cyclops' dad and all that stuff and have it stay "reasonable". That works with the comics/cartoons because they are supposed to be over the top but it would be really campy and just plain stupid in a movie setting. All the people who aren't too familiar with the X-Men would have been like "Okay, so Xavier's step-brother finds a red gem in an old temple that aliens have been fighting a war over for centuries, but it grants him amazing powers. This is stupid."

Well that's no more preposterous than the Phoenix creature jumping into Jean Grey's body and keeping her alive, which we did see in the movies.
