Red Alert 2 in my opinion. The original C&C as well as Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 1 weren't too well balanced.

Original C&C was so fucking groundbreaking though. The others might be better balanced or whatever, but C&C was the first really good RTS set in the present or near future. I think for the RTS games it probably had the biggest impact to me.

Prob the original, though I enjoyed Tiberium Wars immensely; more than Tiberian Sun.

RA1 then Tiberian Sun.

I still laugh at Tiberian Dawn with fencing. put a bunch down and the enemy didnt know what to do. I won several missions just by doing that.

RA1 and the original close behind. The former was entertaining without being TOO over-the-top like the latest Red Alert game. Also a real blast in terms of multiplayer entertainment (the memories of hearing my neighbor upstairs swear up a storm after wiping out his MiG's in a well laid trap is still fresh). The latter was also a blast to play.
