Irrelevant if you think it's mexican food or not.

But.

I've tried both, more than once, and I cannot seem to taste the difference. Many people differ on this and have their preferences.

Is it just me or it certainly does taste the same?

Which do you prefer?

i thought the great debate was moe's v. qdoba or chipotle

i've never had qdoba. but i like chipotle better than moes. except i like moes salsa/queso/free chips better. but the meat, rice, etc i like better at chip.

also i choose cosmic cantina over all 3!

I've only eaten at Chipotle and for some reason or another I liked qdoba better. I think it was either some menu difference or maybe different salsas, but i don't remember. The Chipotle I went to was also in California, so that could've been it. At the very least, the taste is similar, but the Qdoba in Cary periodically does free drinks for students.

(and on Mondays at lunchtime, I'd usually go for some Moe's over Qdoba )

I like Moe's mild salsa better and Qdoba's medium, hot, and habanero better.

[Edited on May 4, 2009 at 5:59 PM. Reason : Oh yeah. Cosmic's is where it's at.]

I like Qdoba better, but California Tortilla kills them both.

Also not really a fan of Salsarita's

Salsa Fresh has some good food, but that does not include their burritos, very bland actually.

Chipotle on Glenwood is VERY hit or miss. When it's on, it's the best, but when it's off, it's the worst. So without consistency, I can't put it on top of my list. Moe's is the best bang for the buck and consistent, plus their hot sauce in the sauce area is pretty hot so I just pour that on my burrito, not sure why they don't have that on the main line.

Moe's > Chipotle > Salsarita's > Qdoba > Salsa Fresh

But I do want to try Flaming Amy's, the one time I tried to go in Wilmington it was closed.

Only been to Qdoba once but I don't remember being overly impressed. The only time I've been to Cosmic I was quite drunk so I can't speak to it with any certainty. I like Chipotle quite a bit though (based on the ones in Chapel Hill and Greensboro, I've not been to the one on Glenwood). Both better than Moe's. Baja Burrito is also better than Moe's but I've not made my mind up re: Baja vs. Chipotle. So:

Baja Burrito == Chipotle > Qdoba > Moe's.

qdoba's queso and chips are the best of the ones listed ^

i'd probably put chipotle, baja and qdoba on roughly the same level, with moe's below that.

my favorite restaurant of this type in the area (ie non-authentic burritos, quesadillas, etc) is probably cosmic cantina.

qdoba's queso burritos put them over the top for me, if you dont want queso on your chicken or steak, chipotle is better. Both are overpriced, find a coupon

You should only go to Qdoba for queso, otherwise go to Chipotle & get the carnitas (free-range pork). You're welcome.
