yea, heard about this recently. Get ready for more pre-packaged Tremonti riffs. The only thing I enjoyed about Creed was the fact that back in middle school/high school when I got guitar world magazine, one year he got simultaneously voted the magazine's favorite and least favorite guitar player (2 separate categories he was nominated in). I just found it funny because he was so polarizing. At that time when they were so popular you had all the Creed fanboys, and then on the other spectrum you had other guitar players that were sick and tired of seeing such a hack as the cover story every other month.

But seriously, that guy lacks any shred of creativity in his writing.

ok one of the funniest recent moments in my life was all of my friends sitting around drinking listening to 90s music on demand and having a singalong (you know, a little alanis, jewel, sheryl crow, pearl jam, etc). but the best was when creed came on and hearing everyone's scott stapp voice. because everyone can do the voice. everyone.

the thing is theres sucking so bad people still listen to your songs (if they HAPPEN to come on during 90s hour at 1am and you feel like having a voice off). and then theres just plain sucking.

p.s. i didn't know scott stapp had a solo career.

a number of guys in these '90s/'00s idiot-rock bands played PRS guitars with overly ornate finishes and all kinds of lame shit

as a result, lots of kids who were learning guitar at the time and were into said bands think that a PRS with a gaudy finish is the pinnacle of guitardom, as opposed to a Strat or Les Paul for someone who came up in the late '60s or a Jazzmaster/Jaguar for someone closer to my age

regardless of other musical preferences, I think we can all agree that bands like Nickelback and Creed aren't worth anything.

I think 8/10 of those bands are fantastic. Would they be in my personal top 10? No to all but the pixies probably. But I don't think you can judge just by their personal top 10.
