I don't know if anyone has been noticing, but he is throwing himself in the ring for AL MVP this year. If not for Robbie Cano's amazing year he'd be right in the thick of it for the AL Triple Crown.

I should have taken more pics while I was there. I just kind of hung out before the game in the dugout and talked to the security guard and some field guys. Here is a pic of the cubs taking BP.

reminds me of earlier this year when i bought tickets to one of the charlotte/syracuse AAA games about a month before it was played...i wouldve gotten to see strasburg pitch if Washington had kept him in the minors an extra 5 days 6/22/2010 7:47:31 PM |

what sucks really bad is that I just happened to be in Dallas w/ my fiance, visiting her sisters, and aunt. On a whim, we decided to go to the game that night, and ESPN was reporting that Hamilton was probably gonna return that night. at gametime, they decided to not play him yet.

Quote : | "Hamilton was June's AL player of the month after leading the majors in average (.454), RBIs (31), hits (49) and slugging percentage (.815)." |
He is now 2nd in the league in batting average (.342)
Tied for 1st in home runs (21)
5th in RBIs (62)
2nd in slugging (.621)
The way he's hitting, he's a decent candidate for the triple crown, and a favorite for the AL MVP. But he'll probably slow down after the break, like he did in 2008.7/7/2010 1:56:47 AM |

It's odd to think that as good as Pujols is he's probably been the fourth best offensive first baseman this year (Votto, Cabrera, Morneau being better). Cabrera has probably been the best offensive player in the league this year just a bit ahead of Josh. 7/12/2010 9:49:04 AM |

He's batting .353 right now, tops in baseball, along with 22 homers and 67 RBI.
He has batted something like .440 over the last 2 months, while hitting with a ton of power. That is simply insane. Texas has rested him periodically because he's getting sore from running so many bases.
I doubt he can keep that up, but if he does, he will surpass Cabrera and be the obvious choice for AL MVP. 7/20/2010 2:09:54 AM |

3-3 with 3 RBIs through 5 tonight. Every time I check a box score this guy is getting 2 or 3 hits. Absolutely unbelievable two months from him. He's got to be the MVP leader, Miggy be damned. And with all the injuries, I bet the Tigers fade anyway...
